Established by the Kwok Scholars Association (founded by Dr. Walter Kwok), each year the Kwok Scholarships provides full funding for exceptional students from Hong Kong and/or Mainland China who intend to return to Hong Kong or Mainland China on completion of their studies to develop a career in public service for the benefit of the Hong Kong community and/or betterment of China.  

There are two scholarships for Hong Kong and/or Mainland China students to apply.

Kwok Scholarships for Undergraduate Study at the University of Oxford

Funding is available for two undergraduate scholarships at the University of Oxford annually. 

Value of Scholarship

Full funding to cover University tuition fees, college fees and a maintenance grant for living expenses.

Eligibility

An applicant must be a Chinese National from Hong Kong, have exceptional academic merit or potential and have been offered a place to study Philosophy, Politics & Economics or another Social Sciences undergraduate degree subject related to public service, and demonstrate a commitment to public service for the benefit and betterment of the people of Hong Kong and/or China, and the intention to use his or her studies at the University of Oxford to further that commitment.

Selection Criteria

Candidates must first apply for an undergraduate course at the University of Oxford using the UCAS application and be successful in gaining a place for admission. Eligible candidates who have received an offer for an undergraduate course should submit a separate application for a Kwok Scholarship. Scholarships will be allocated based on academic merit, financial need and commitment to public service.

Application Deadline

The application deadline is normally the end of January.

Kwok Scholarships for Master of Public Policy at the University of Oxford

Funding is available for two MPP scholarships at the University of Oxford, annually.

Value of Scholarship

Full funding to cover University tuition fees, college fees and a maintenance grant for living expenses.

Eligibility

An applicant must be a Chinese National from Hong Kong or Mainland China, have exceptional academic merit or potential and have been offered a place to study Master of Public Policy programme. He/she should demonstrate a commitment to public service for the benefit of the Hong Kong community and/or betterment of China, and the intention to use his or her studies at the University of Oxford to further that commitment.

Selection Criteria

Candidates must first apply to the BSG and be successful in gaining a place for admission to the MPP programme. Eligible candidates who have received an offer from the BSG should submit a separate application for a Kwok Scholarship. Scholarships will be allocated based on academic merit, financial need and commitment to public service.

Application Deadline

The application deadline is normally the end of March.
