UK and overseas universities offer a wide variety of qualifications for students who wish to study from their home country. We assist these universities by administering exams on their behalf.
You can also take resit exams at the British Council Hong Kong, so you don’t have to return to the UK during your holiday.
How do you register?
Please ensure you have contacted your institution and obtained approval from them to take an exam with British Council Hong Kong. It is the student’s responsibility to complete any documentation and settle any payment the institution requires.
- Inform the school or institution that you or your child would like the exam to be administered at British Council Hong Kong.
- Once the school or institution has given their approval for you to take the exam with us, submit Exam request form.
- We will contact the school or institution when we receive your exam request.
- We will contact you for the payment, and to confirm your registration.
Exam timetable
Exams are normally held at the time specified by the school. Neither the British Council nor the candidates can make changes to the exam time. Please check with the school to suggest a date and time. Additionally, please remember that our registration form refers to Hong Kong local time, GMT+8.
Monday to Friday (Closed on Hong Kong Public Holidays)
- Morning Session: Starts at 10:00 a.m. and finishes by 1:00 p.m.; or
- Afternoon Session: Starts at 2:00 p.m. and finishes by 5:00 p.m.
How much does it cost?
Our exam fees cover venue hire, invigilation charges, secure storage of question papers and scripts, and courier charges. Our fees do not include fees charged by the exam board. Please get in touch with the board to discuss their exam fees.
If the fee is responsible by the eam board/ institution, we will contact the exam board/ institution to settle the exam payment.
If the fee is responsible by candidate, please complete the exam request form and return to us for exam registration.
