Sweet Loss will investigate the significance and transformational possibilities of loss/trauma. Drawing from nature, folklore, ritual, psychology, medicine and more, the artists—Kwan Q Li from Hong Kong, and Zillah Bowes and Roanna Holmes-Frodsham from Wales—will offer representations of how loss/trauma may be transformed, or positively experienced, in various ways. The collective research and resultant video works will interweave the cultural landscapes of Hong Kong and the UK together.

The performance lecture will include an orchestrated presentation of three videos on different screens by the artists. This will be accompanied by a joint, online live performance in three locations (Hong Kong/UK), converging and diverging at different times thematically and spatially, by discourse, spoken word, dialogue and more.
