The inaugural Social Investment Platform (SIP) was launched in 2013, securing as much as CNY9 million for 15 social enterprises.  Riding on this successful experience, another SIP (part of the Skills for Social Entrepreneurs Programme) will commence in September 2014 by the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy with the support of 9 strong partners which are all social investors in Mainland China, including More Love Foundation, Narada Foundation, Innovate 99, Social Enterprise Research Centre, Yu Venture Philanthropy, Dunhe Foundation, LGT Venture Philanthropy, Shenzhen Innovation Corporate Social Responsibility Development Centre (CSRDC), and the Institute for Environment and Development.  The event targets at social enterprises in both Mainland China and Hong Kong.  Winners, who excel in 4 rounds of selection and negotiation, will have the privilege of receiving expert training from our social investors and investment funding up to CNY10 million.  

You are invited to take part in this Social Investment Platform or share the information with your business circle, so that more charitable organisations, social enterprises and business entities with a clear social objective may be benefited.  Those who are interested may submit their application online in English or Chinese from 1 September to 28 October 2014. Shortlisted candidates will have access to funding opportunities available as well as expert guidance and mentoring from potential investors.

A Social Investment Platform Promotion Salon will brief applicants face-to-face by representatives of social investors on their investment intention and selection criteria.

3.       Yu Venture Philanthropy

4.       LGT Venture Philanthropy

5.       Shenzhen Innovation Corporate Social Responsibility Development Center (“CSRDC”) 

Thomson Reuters Foundation will provide pro-bono legal consultancy services to all the winners who meet criteria in the process of negotiating and reaching the social investment or grant funding agreements.
