In line with the government’s latest announcement, please find outlined below the measures the British Council in Hong Kong is taking to support efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19. We apologise for any inconvenience that these may cause, but please be assured that the health, safety and well-being of our customers and the community in which we operate is our top priority.
Adult classes will resume in-centre from Monday 25 April. Details about individual course dates can be found in an email to existing students.
We will resume in-centre classes for our Young Learner courses by phase starting from Friday 29 April. We will be sending communication regarding the exact date and details for in-centre resumption individually to parents and students. Before then, we will continue classes online.
The following is the arrangement from Thursday 21 April until further notice:
IELTS examination in British Council will be able to resume under the guidelines from the Education Bureau:
•To enter the test venues and be accepted to take the IELTS test, it is necessary for all test takers to conduct a same-day Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and obtain a negative result in order to ensure they adhere to the health and safety measures outlined by the Education Bureau.
•Test takers will need to sign a declaration form upon arrival at the venue. The form will be emailed to test takers within 48 hours before the test. It will be also provided on-site for candidates to sign.
•Test takers who have positive RAT results, or have household close contact(s) currently undergoing compulsory testing but have not received test results, will not be allowed to take the exam. A deferral or refund can be arranged.

Registrations for entrance exams invigilation service are now accepted for the examinations scheduled from 1 May 2022 onwards (except Saturday, Sunday and public holidays).
Test report forms
Test takers who have already taken their test will receive their TRF by mail.
If results are urgently needed and it is 5 days since your computer delivered test or 13 days since your paper test then please email your test centre.
Our Admiralty and Tsim Sha Tsui centres are closed to the general public until further notice. You may only access our buildings to attend an English class or exam. Any other access is strictly by appointment only.

For those who are permitted to attend our centres, we have strict hygiene and social distancing measures in place, which include:
- Compulsory health and travel declarations
- Compulsory mask wearing
- Temperature checks
- Spacious, well-ventilated classrooms and exams venues
- Reduced class sizes
- Maintenance of social distancing in the class and exams rooms and for queuing
- Regular disinfection of public areas and all rooms after each exam
- Provision of hand sanitisers in all rooms and public areas
Please note that if you are notified by the government or medical authorities to attend for a Covid-19 test, please do not use our services until you know your result is negative.
