How to register online

Select your test date from the table below. You will then be taken to the IELTS registration system.

Please complete all fields in English.

1. Select Financial Support Scheme (First test attempt) or Non-Financial Scheme (Multiple test attempt)

2. Register an account/Login to your account (please use a valid Lingnan University student email)

3. Complete your details

4. Select a test date

5. Complete the application details

6. Apply for additional Test Report Forms (TRF) to be sent to institutions and organisations (if applicable)

7. Verify your test application information

8. Complete your online payment * 
* If registering IELTS for the first time, please complete all your personal information, then close the registration link. The University will automatically process the payment.

Documents required

Before choosing a test session, please have the following items to hand:

  1. If taking IELTS in Hong Kong, please provide a valid Hong Kong ID or passport as an identification document. Any other documents (e.g. Exit-Entry Permit / admission ticket etc.) are not required and will not be accepted.
  2. Credit or debit card, China WeChat and China Alipay.

Fees:

  • The first test will be paid for by the University (normally HKD 2,685). 
  • If further tests are required, the student will need to pay a discounted rate of HKD 2,200 per test (using a promo code which is provided to you).

For your convenience the test sessions for Lingnan students will be held on campus. The details of the test venue location will be shown on your Confirmation of Registration (COR) which will be sent to you two weeks before the test.

Students are allowed to make changes to the date of the registered test up to five weeks before the registered test date. Any request for a change is subject to the availability of seats for that test date. An administration charge HK$450 will be applied. No refund will be granted within five weeks before the registered test date. Any request for a refund is subject to approval by the IELTS Administrator. If a candidate wants to cancel and refund the test due to some exceptional circumstances with supporting evidence (medical or exam clash related), he/she has to notify us by email at examinations@britishcoucil.org.hk FIVE weeks before the test. If the centre approves your case, we will refund 100% after the case assessment.
